Anthony Sloan – You’ll be missed.

Today I heard of the passing of a friend of mine, Anthony Sloan. Anthony’s passing during his sleep was a shock because he was young and healthy and it came without warning.

Anthony was an avid and accomplished mountain biker. He was an equally avid photographer; although [...]

What is your routine?

I find that having a daily routine increases my productivity dramatically. I often wonder if success is possible without routine.

Recently I discovered a website that documents the routines of famous people. It is fascinating browsing.

I especially liked Benjamin Franklin’s routine.

2009 blogging resumes!

After a month long hiatus / vacation, I’m back! I’ve got a lot of pent-up blogs just waiting to be released…

Why Blog?

I am not a long-time nor regular blogger. I often think about why I should or shouldn’t blog. Brad Feld points to a very well thought-out essay on why bloggers blog…Andrew Sullivan’s Why I Blog is a worthwhile read.

A Weekend...Denied

Thursday night, Mark and Mark and Susana and I headed out for Moab for a weekend of fun and riding. We woke up Friday to a beautiful desert morning, had a late breakfast at The Jailhouse Cafe. I had grapefruit juice, chorizo eggs, and swedish pancakes.

I went outside to shoo them [...]

If I seem tired...

…well that’s because this weekend was one of the best weekends ever to be in Colorado! The weather was fantastic, the activities were epic, and the company great!

Photos will be forthcoming, but know that the weekend involved rocks, wheels, snow, sun, food, and…drumroll please…beer!

Here are some writeups about our day

If I seem cranky...

…It’s only because I’m under-slept, under-resourced, under-sunned, and under-exercised. Good thing it’s the annual weekend dedicated to singing flesh on the grill – it’s just what the Dr. ordered. (Now, piss-off!)

The Impact of Goals

These days, most of my riding buddies are a little burnt out on racing. After 4 or 5 years of spending a summer doing a race every other weekend or so, most of us have decided that this summer we just want to have fun riding. It’s not uncommon: bike racing is grueling. Of all [...]
